Healthy School Meals

At lunchtime the children have three options:-

School Meal

School meals are available to all our children at a cost of £1.75 per day (£8.75 per week.) We have meals cooked on the premises every day, using fresh meat and vegetables. There is a wide variety of choice, vegetarian and halal meals are also available
The Reception children go in first for their lunch followed by the Key Stage 1 (Yr 1 and 2) children and then the Key Stage 2 children (Yrs 3 to 6).

The children are assigned a table number when they enter school. The Lunchtime organisers and the childrne are all aware of the table numbers and where they sit at lunchtime.

If you think your child may be entitled to Free School Meals please collect a form from the school office. Part of the school's budget is determined by the number of free meals and we will lose this allowance if you do not claim.

In the event of a child changing from school dinners to packed lunches or the other way round, two weeks notice should be given. This is to allow for the kitchen to plan within their budget.

Home for Lunch

If you decide to take your child home for lunch please make sure that they are collected at the end of the morning session and returned to school five minutes before the start of the afternoon session. This option is discouraged as we feel lunchtimes are an enjoyable, social time of the school day.

Packed Lunch from Home

If your child decides to bring in a packed lunch we do provide the option of trying up to 2 school meals per week. This is a system we have used over the past couple of years and found to be very successful. If your child wishes to do this please ensure you inform a member of staff in the school office who will explain how the system works. We do discourage the bringing of packed lunches, basically because the space for storing lunch boxes is very limited and we cannot provide cool areas to keep the food at appropriate temperatures. This is especially a problem during the summer months. Please do not send in glass bottles or cans as these can be dangerous if dropped or shaken.

Whatever meal your child has in school, he or she is in the care of our very able Lunchtime Organisers under the direction of the Headteacher. We expect the children to display good manners, treat everyone with respect and behave properly at the table and in the playground. Unfortunately failure to co-operate with the above may mean that the privilege of lunching at school for that child has to be suspended by the Headteacher. This is for the welfare and benefit of the other children in school.

Dinner Money

Please send your child's dinner money in a clearly marked envelope EVERY MONDAY. We ask you to put the following information on the envelope:-

Your child's name and class
The amount enclosed

Please do not send dinner money in on any other day as this prohibits our administration staff from carrying out their other duties.

Payments can be made on our online payments page with WisePay. Please see 'Parents Area' for more information on this.

School Milk & Fruit

School milk and fruit is provided for all children in Key Stage 1 each day. This is free of charge.
