Safeguarding
Bamford Primary School fully recognises its responsibilities for safeguarding.
There are three main elements to our policy:
a) Prevention through the teaching and pastoral support offered to pupils.
b) Procedures for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases, of abuse. Because of our day-to day contact with children school staff are well placed to observe the outward signs of abuse.
c) Support to pupils who may have been abused.
Our policy applies to all staff and volunteers working in our school, community education staff and governors. Learning support assistants, Mid-day supervisors, secretaries as well as teachers can be the first point of disclosure for a child. Concerned parents may also contact a member of the safeguarding team.
If you have any concerns about a child or you would like some advice or family support, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the safeguarding team: Miss Wild - Child Protection Officer, Ms. Rivero - Headteacher or Mrs Lewis - Deputy Headteacher.
